An 18-year-old cyclist was killed by a driver fleeing police with a stolen vehicle in Montreal's Ahuntsic neighbourhood Friday around noon.

According to Quebec's independent police watchdog, an officer in an unmarked provincial police car tried to stop the driver for a possible traffic violation. The driver fled and struck the cyclist at Jeanne-Mance and Henri-Bourassa. Police later confirmed he was driving a stolen car.

The driver abandoned the car nearby and ran away on foot. As of Saturday, no suspect had been identified or arrested.
