Democratic Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut was hospitalized after suffering a stroke on Saturday, according to his chief of staff.

Murphy experienced numbness in his arm while attending his son's hockey game and was transferred to Johns Hopkins Hospital. His office says he is awake, alert, responding well to treatment, and doctors are optimistic about a full recovery.
